My VideoGameMusicRemixCommunity Music Collection

August 9th, 2005 in Music |

Stupid Idea yea, but with the arrival of Dale Norths ‘right out of the
blue’ today I thought I’d share my collection. When in mid 2000 I
joined other people who had an Interest in VideoGameMusic little did I
know what would grow out of this (not only for me but generally
speaking). Over the years several so-called remixers released albums or
were featured on collaberation albums. Here one can see which of em I
own myself :)
Head over here to see which of those albums is what.

New Sarbatka Track Release: A Faint Smile (!)

August 8th, 2005 in Music |

Most of you probably didn’t believe in it anymore, here it is, a new track release on Sarbatka (!) after almost two years a pretty surprising – if not astonishing – event.
Especially since it’s not the long-mentioned “Just a friend”, that one is still only avaible on the Joe Cam Hits & Misses CD.
I’m going to remix it again before I’ll release it here, I like it alot
but there’s still room for improvement and I wanna build on that.
Now back to the current release, “a faint smile”. This is nothing too
special, it’s more a back to the roots; Most of the older Sarbatka
tracks were build in 2-3 days while for example Just a friend took 2-3
weeks. This is – of course – a quality indication which “a faint smile”
lacks, but anyhow I wanted to move from quality over quantity to
quantity over quality, if only to provide some sort of justification
for the sheer existance of this site.

What is to be expected now? I don’t know, I’m still quite busy, but my
current war against procrastination seems to fruit, not only because I
released this track, but also due to the relaunch of www.terhech.de
and other things to come. So it could be that I, although I have little
spare time left, will be able to release more tracks in the future,
maybe even the one or other game remix again.
Apart from that there’s still “Just a friend” on the horizon, and while you’re waiting for it to appear here, I still strongly advise you to buy it now because the album rocks and it’s a good bargain.

you got a stick

May 30th, 2005 in Music |

I got this stick from Markus last
week, I couldn’t answer it up to now. Markus send his stick in german,
but I figured that I had to translate it in order to follow the rules
which demand that I have to throw this stick to other webloggers
afterwards, and all the other weblogging friends I have/(can think of
right now) aren’t german.

1. How many gigantic bytes of music do you have saved on your computer?
Hm, I think there’re currently about 40gb of music, tendency “up” :)

2. The last album/cd you bought was .. ?
3 Days ago 3 albums at once:
“All that Jazz”,
“Royal Philharmnoic Orchestra – Easy Listening”,
“Irish Music” (for mom ;) )

3. Which track were you listening to when you got this message?
Cabin Crew – Star to Fall

4. Name five tracks to which you listen quite often and which are important to you.
(in no specific order)
Zero 7 – Sommersault
Coldplay – The Scientist
Bach – Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D-Minor “Air”
John Denver – Leaving on a Jetplane
Royksöpp – Remind me
Carlos Gardel – Por una Cabeza

5. Which other people do you give this stick (3 people) and why?
The lucky fellows I offer this stick are:
Variable Rush,
Joe Cam,
Kassie

Track-A-Day: Without a Band

May 23rd, 2005 in Music |

This track-a-day is from the 9th of May, so it’s a bit old, but I had
previously not really enough time… It’s a try at jazz, with a jazz
piano, a bass et cetera. Nothing special but at least it’s a new
track-a-day (I still have a really good one around, I might post it
this week)

Length: 0:26min

Software. Apple Garageband 2.0

Feels so good

May 8th, 2005 in Music |

I’m currently listening to the ‘Rage Against The Machine’ Album from
‘Rage Against The Machine’. I bought that album in (1993?) somewhere
when I was quite young. And it pretty much dominated my youth. I can’t
even tell how many times I listened to that album. I knew all lyrics
and stuff. Awesome. I think I lost it in 1998 or 1997 (along with ‘King
for a day, fool for a lifetime from Faith No More’). And I recently
decided to see if I can find it online. I found most of the tracks. I’m
currently listening to ‘Fistfull of steel’, haven’t listened to that
track in years. Awesome. Absolutely Awesome. And I’m drunk ;)

Track-A-Day: A GLIMPSE OF COLD

April 19th, 2005 in Music |

There we are, featuring another Track-A-Day. I finally realized that
it’s quite impossible for me to create a track every day as there’re
quite many days a week where I’m not even at home at all. So I changed
the rule a bit:
Track-A-Day just means that I created that track on that day only.
This track is Chill DnB (or how you’ll call it). Some simple chords and
a damn nice drumline, ah well, I’d say that this one is among the
better ones from my Track-A-Day results; I’d even reckon that I will
continue on this one;

Length: 1:58 Minutes
Software: Cubase SL 1, Renoise 1.5

Track-A-Day: Plastipholia

April 16th, 2005 in Music |

I couldn’t create a Track-A-Day yesterday as I had no time to do so.
And even today it was quite difficult to find some time to work on a
track. However, I found some 20minutes and created a small trance
track. Nothing special, not the melody, nor the patches. Just usual
2001 trance style, but well, I always enjoy working on music, and I
might continue this track someday, it could have some potential.

Track-A-Day: Infinite Loom

April 14th, 2005 in Music |

Hell Yes. Another Entry in my Track-A-Day enforcement. This time it’s
something very moody, still nothing one would dare to call a track
(it’s just under 1 minute). However this time I’m quite pleased with
the track. Aw, it’s already late, gotta go:
